Today Is The Day.
In the midst of all that may end, is God in question? What I am facing today more ferociously than ever is the impressing of evil on my heart conjuring lie after lie to get my heart to fear. Don’t read these words as just another Christian rant, what God has put on my heart is the heaviest I’ve ever dealt with and I think it comes with great warning involved. Much of what you may have been taught growing up in the church has ill prepared you for the times our generation will face. The comforts you experience may even be damaging to the faith you will need in the future, we are not well practiced in the uncomfortable or difficult. You may question the validity of that statement but if you live in the United States you and I both know all the stats on world wealth and consumption that I don’t even have to post it. Face it, you are spoiled rotten and most likely aren’t going hungry. “Well, I don’t know Aaron, I’m going through a really difficult time and I can hardly pay my rent.”
What I’m trying to drive home is, in many cases we have allowed our comfortability and social standing a priority over Jesus Christ. How do I know this? Do you submit yourself to the Lord? Do you run to him? Are you justifying your own sin? It is so easy for us to let ourselves get away with so much, and in many cases to the point where we have been calloused. The spirit isn’t sensitive, you’re drifting, and the cornerstone of your faith is something that is evident in your life less and less.
What I’m saying is, whether you want to believe it or not it’s time to step up and start living a life worthy of God’s calling. People may beat you, they may tear at your flesh and nonetheless you must be able to say ‘It Is Well With My Soul!” Friends, if you are not prepared for struggle then I urge you to find yourself in the scriptures and realizing that you may not be so far removed from the struggles many Saints endured. Wickedness will come from all sides, but fear not for the Lord is with us.
Romans 8:36-39 (American Standard Version)
36 Even as it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord
If you cannot sit there and imagine yourself being led to the slaughter, and still in a place of worship to your King - it’s time to repent. Jesus was never about your comfort, he was about HIS purpose. All things will be reconciled unto HIM, including YOU, and you will be victorious with your King no matter what anyone tries to do to you. No one can take Jesus from you, you can only give him away. Take up your cross my friends, today is not soon enough and tomorrow will have been far too long! Today is the day.
